Cracking fish Chris, must be some of the best Tench to come out for a while.  I had a few last week on worm but not to that size!

Good to meet you at Shawfields the other day Chris, we will have to sort out our trip to the Loddon to see what can be done.  Mike if you are still wanting to help out leave a message on here and we can arrange a date.

Well done with the 5lb 7oz fish, I have spent quite a few sessions this winter trying to get a 5+ Whitewater Chub but failed!  Got plenty of 4's and had some great days, though I did manage to get a 5lb 3oz Chub from the Londdon on the last day.   Regards the Barbel I don't think any have been caught in the Whitewater for years, even in the Loddon they are not there in the numbers they were in the past.  I spoke to a guy on the Loddon on the last day and he was saying the the river is a pale shaddow of what it was when he fished it regulary in about 2005.  This is what I have been told by a number of anglers.

Had a great morning on the Whitewater yesterday - two nice Chub one 4lb 2oz and one 4 4 both on bread flake but then drove up to the section by the ford for the afternoon and didn't get a bite in three hours! Does anyone fish this section? Driving home I passed the short section running up to the wier and saw another angler fishing there. This is the first time I have ever seen another person fishing the Whitewater!
Off to the Loddon later in the week.

I fished the Loddon a lot last season, its not an easy river and takes a number of visits to get to know a few good swims.  After plenty of good chub I finally found spots which held Barbel.  I would be happy to be part of a work party (it needs it!) also a excuse to walk the river and share info.

After many sessions throughout the winter and some good days with a number of 4lb plus Chub I finally got a Loddon Barbel today, just made it before the season ended!  A great looking 8lb 10oz fish.  Will put picture in Gallery.

My membership number is 139, I intend to renew my membership although I do not get to Shawfields as much as I would like to.  For this reason and understanding that numbers may have to be restricted I woulld be happy to purchase a 'Rivers Only' ticket as I fish the Loddon and Whitewater as ofter as I can manage.  Hopefully this would free up spaces for those who want to fish Shawfields.

No longer having Hollybush will be a great loss to the club and with Shawfields now the only 'local' venue I can understand maybe restricting numbers.  Have the society thought of having a rivers only ticket for the Whitewater and Loddon?  I enjoy fishing these rivers as often as I can but don't get to Shawfiels as often as I would like!

I've had some good results on the canal, best Carp just over 15lb and many lower doubles from claygate area and seen a few 'big uns' at eelmoor.  But I think the biggest fish are at the Great Bottom Flash, must be 30's in there!   Also good Tench fishing along the claygate stretch.

Nice fish Boony,  you should show off your 'very smart' FADAS hoody your're wearing in the photo.  Only you and me got one at the moment!!

Had to get on the river again before the season finished and had a great few hours on the stretch by the weir.  Rewarded with a lovely Chub just over 4lbs and a small Brown trout.  Both on bread flake.

As agreed with David and Alwyn, I am providing FADAS embroidered hoodies, fleeces, polo shirts and other items.
