Thanks for the info Dave.  It is encouraging me to go again this evening to see if I can go bigger.

Maybe I will try and targe a few Tench as well?  I have caught them to around 4 - 5lbs but again have never previously kept a PB for old tinca tinca.  Time to start!

Rich.

Hi All,
I had my first night session of the season a month or so ago.  I was mostly using pellet and low and behold I attracted the bream rather than the carp.  I have never kept a bream PB so took the opportunity to start with the biggest I caught being 4lb 6oz.

Anyhow, I thought it might be fun to try and improve that so was back again the other day for my next session armed with lighter gear.  My PB now stands at 5lb 5oz, hurrah.  So how much bigger to they go in shawfields?  Does anyone else bother weighing them?  Am I likely to become a laughing stock for targeting them? Grin

Cheers
Rich.
I am not sure how big but think larger have been caught. Chris or Tony may know more.
David.

I have noticed that now we have treated the small pond for the algae problem it has appeared on the larger one. I hope the volunteers who worked on the small one are happy to treat the large one.
I assume that people are catching fish but notice there has been no post's here!!

Having walked the waters yesterday it can be seen that the Aquaplankton treatment for the blanket weed has worked. we now have the problem that there is a large amount of Canadian pond weed which makes it difficult to fish. A rake is required!
