Grin At last my quest for a 20lb carp from here is over, my first 48 hrs on the lake this year I found that the fish didn't want to play ball and after a wet 24hrs had to rethink my approach. I kept one rod on a spot I had previously had success from and had had a few indications that there were fish in the area. The second rod I moved to the margin on my left where a couple of fish had shown earlier. Late that evening I had a bite from my original spot and after a short fight landed a 12lb mirror carp, happy now as I'd avoided a blank session. After a good sleep I awoke at around 6am, whilst I was making a brew the margin alarm screamed into life, as I hit into the fish I realised it had raced off some 20yds, after a good battle a superb 20lb 4oz common was gracing my net  Grin . I called a fellow angler (Rocky Goddard) who was fishing the other side of the lake, if he would like to see the fish, he was here in a flash lol, after reeling in. After weighing and photo's, time for tea again. I settled down feeling well happy now. It wasn't that long after that when the other alarm woke up and another pretty bar of gold, in the shape of a scaled mirror carp, had graced my net too. A great start to the year.

Hi!
Well done. I think you need to keep feeding, as now we have a 20 we need a twenty five.

Wink After a slow stroll around the lake and seeing many fish on the move today, I'm pleased to say that there was not any rubbish for me to pick up, as there was a few anglers over the weekend. Most of whom seemed unable to tempt our fish as far as I know. Well done all, keep it nice and tidy.

Hey guys , I'm back on after a long time trying to remember my password hahaha, anyway just like to let you know that the path from the gate, to the right, has been cut and trimmed round as far as swim 23 on the road bank, so no more thorns or wet trousers when you walk round.
I shall try and get the rest done soon .
