Shawfields small lake has had the path right the way round cleared for angler access, thanks to Dave and Tony. At the moment it is, however, weed from bottom to top in all but the deepest spots.  Water is crystal clear, with abundant fry of who-knows-what showing, along with shoals of roach and rudd and perch, and some pristine mid-teens (that’s weight in pounds not age!) carp. No sign or reports of tench, bream or crucians; but then has anyone fished? We suggest raking if you do. Proper old-skool!
